About Bunnies and Blossom

Hello! I’m Vikki, the founder and sole creator behind Bunnies and Blossom. This journey is a blend of my passion for fashion design and my heartfelt desire to make life more personal and meaningful.

The Story

2017 The Venture Began
In 2017, while on maternity leave, I found myself at a crossroads in my career. As an experienced fashion designer, I had always been drawn to the captivating world of design and creative expression. However, the demands of starting a family made me reflect on the path ahead. I was contemplating my career future one day and decided to start out making children’s clothing. I struggled to stay in the fashion industry after starting a family as long commutes were no longer viable. I didn’t just want to make clothes though I wanted to design the prints and offer something unique. That’s when I decided to design and make girls clothing with matching outfits for their teddies and dolls; and so the journey began. It started as a little venture to keep my creative side happy. I began designing prints and getting the fabric printed in the UK and made the garments myself at home.

As I grew this venture, I discovered a niche for Jellycat clothing, creating adorable outfits that brought joy to little ones. However, the hustle of making everything by hand and balancing family life was a challenge.
2018-2020 Navigating Through Life
Over the next few years, i carried on working on things here and there, did freelance design projects and even started working as a part time receptionist at a local health spa. I really enjoyed being able to converse with adults again and felt like I found the person i'd lost sight of a little. Don't get me wrong I felt so lucky to be able to enjoy so much of my daughter's childhood with her and would never want to change that. But those 1 or 2 days a week help me to be Me again. I think it's mostly down to being able to have a conversation without being interrupted or having your eyes and attention elsewhere to make sure your not going to be having a trip to A&E.
Whilst working there had it's pros, there was also massive cons. It wasn't my passion and it also felt like I'd gone back in life. I had a degree in design which I'd worked so hard for and was on track to have a good career in the industry and a reasonably well paid job now I was back to minimum wage.
2020 Another Little Girl
So lockdown hit and I also gave birth to my second daughter. What a crazy time to have a baby! When I went into labour I had to go in the hospital on my own whilst my husband waited in the car. I was in the room on my own experiencing the pain of contractions and had nobody by my side. At one point I was kneeling on the floor whilst going through a contraction and felt so alone. To be honest I'm grateful it was my second child so it made it not quite as bad. Not until I was in established labour could he come in. He was allowed to stay for a little after she was born and then had to go home. He then wasn't allowed back until I was ready to be discharged where he had to meet us at the door with the car seat. It was an experience but I'm just thankful everything went ok.
2021-2022 More Than Fashion
So I started brainstorming again and I realised something. I wanted to change the way we viewed fashion, wall art and gifts to create more personalised and meaningful products for our wardrobes and home.

We frequently purchase graphic t-shirts with celebrities and models. During my design career, I have often had to design clothes with models, celebrities, and well-known figures on them. I worked as a licensed designer for a long time so was working with licenses such as Disney, Marvel, Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol and many, many more.
I wanted to change this up and celebrate the individuals and images that are meaningful to us by putting the people we know and love on our items.
Driven by these aspirations, I decided to refresh the brand to create something that would go beyond mere clothing. I updated the logo and set out to combine my love for fashion design with a heartfelt mission to redefine how we perceive fashion, wall art, and gifts.I wanted to focus on infusing every aspect of life with personal touches that reflect individuality and the deep bonds we share with our loved ones.

2023 I Found The Essence
So I realised why I was so passionate about making things personalised and it's because I'm a very sentimental person! I was sorting through stuff in the loft and I had a memory box that I'd made myself as a teenager and I'm so glad I saved the things I did. shared my monkey teddy with my little girls and showed them how it was my favourite teddy. I shared my favourite book and started reading it with them. I just want to hold onto special moments.
As my children grow, I've come to recognise the increasing importance of cherishing every second with them. As they continue to grow, I am determined to create lasting memories. Of course, I won't deny that I still have days where they drive me mad, but even amidst the chaos, there are moments of laughter and love that make it all worthwhile.
I want to share the joy of cherishing these moments with other Moms too. That's why, in addition to my collections, I created free printables of screen time coupons, family coupons, and other creative ways of encouraging quality time with your little ones. I understand the challenges of balancing work, family, and personal life, especially during school holidays, so I also crafted a Kids Activity Planner which I use myself during the school holidays.
